• 07.01.09 - Hopedale 911 calls started going to the Mendon Police Station yesterday, part of a three-year contract expected to save both towns money. Millville also plans to sign on as of Aug. 1. Now, when people walk into the Hopedale Police Station instead of being greeted by a person, a 19-inch computer screen will show the dispatcher in Mendon. That dispatcher can communicate via live video conference with anyone in the Hopedale Police Station. Read full story.

  • 01.14.09 - WorldBand announces date for the Grand Opening celebration of its new corporate headquarters. On February 12th at 5 PM in conjunction with the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce’s "Business after Hours," WorldBand will hold a festive event with tours of the new office, gourmet food, complimentary adult beverages, raffles, and live music by Boston's own Jim's Big Ego. Rob Bonnell, President and Owner of WorldBand is expecting upwards of two hundred members, friends, and clients. He says "all guests should expect some surprises that night." See the flyer.

  • 11.18.08 - Rotarian Rob Bonnell, decided to support the Milford Chamber of Commerce's $10,000 raffle by buying a few. It paid off, with a nice $10,000 prize and Rob used some of the windfall to fully fund Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fund. The Paul Harris Fund is used for many local and world projects such as Rotary’s Polio Eradication Project. Pictured with Rob is Tom Sawyer (Milford Rotary Paul Harris Fund Coordinator) and Ed King (Rotary International Paul Harris Fund Representative). The best news - it's all part of Rotary's united effort to build world peace. It can start in many ways. Rob's willingness to share his "winnings" from the Chambers Auction Raffle will go a long way to help someone, somewhere.

  • 08.19.08 - Rob Bonnell, President of WorldBand joins the Milford Area Rotary Club and as such joins the world's first service club organization Rotary International. Its more than 1.2 million members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self" in giving to their community and the world. In late August membership chairman John Peters II inducted Rob. into the club. Pictured with Rob is his club sponsor, past Milford Rotary President Steve Ellis.

  • 09.27.07 - Milford High Senior organizes Computer Care with an assist from WorldBand (Milford Daily News) A.J. Bruce, 17, wants to send 25 computers which would otherwise be trash from Milford High to children in the Dominican Republic. "It's a win-win situation," she said of her project.

    WorldBand is playing a part: Rob Bonnell, the owner of WorldBand Communications Inc. in Milford, said he would cover the shipping costs. Bonnell said he would donate at least 10 more computers as well. He said he does not know how much it would cost at this point, but was confident he could handle the price. "I try to do whatever I can to help out the town," Bonnell said. "The town has always been good to me." Bonnell said he found out about the project because his company provides information technology support to the school system. "I'm proud of her," he said. "To see a kid take some initiative is great. We need more of that from this generation."
